A finalist for the role of Edward Cullen (he lost out to R-Pattz), the 25-year-old Californian stuck in Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke’s mind. When she was seeking someone to play Amanda Seyfried’s medieval lover in Red Riding Hood, Shiloh got the call.

Who’s your character?
I play Peter, an orphan woodcutter who’s come back to the town he left as a boy.

Is he hitting on Red Riding Hood?
He’s looking out for her.

Did you have to learn any skills?
I feel bad saying it but I had to learn how to cut down a tree. They had a beetle infestation in Vancouver though so it was ecologically sound.

Are you the leading candidate to be the big, bad wolf?
You might think that my character’s look makes him an obvious suspect but the script’s really clever. You don’t know what we’re all reacting to.

Will there be a Team Peter and Team Henry [Fernandez’s rival, played by Max Irons]?
I’ve heard there are already fan clubs.
